Anti-Fungal Therapy
Anti-Fungal Therapy
Human exposure to molds, mycotoxins, and water-damaged buildings can cause neurologic and neuropsychiatric signs and symptoms. Many of these clinical features can partly mimic or be similar to classic neurologic disorders including pain syndromes, movement disorders, delirium, dementia, and disorders of balance and coordination. In some cases, the conventional approach fails; therefore, in such cases, it is necessary to treat recurrent fungal infections directly by applying antifungals IV and intranasal depending on the exposure type. The use of multi-resistant fungal drugs combined with IV mycotoxin binders have proven to be a successful anti-fungal approach in unresponsive cases.
